Wholesale

High volumes, thin margins and customers who each have their own agreement. BizBloqs holds the pricing, the credit position and the delivery route in one place.

What does a WMS do in wholesale distribution?

Wholesale distribution combines large customer orders, many SKUs and tight delivery windows. A warehouse management system controls the order-to-shipment path: allocating stock, directing pick routes across zones, consolidating multi-line orders onto pallets and producing the shipping documents each customer or carrier requires.

  • Multi-line orders consolidated per customer, route or delivery window
  • Pick sequence follows the physical layout, not the order line order
  • Customer-specific labelling, packing and documentation applied by rule
  • Back-orders and part deliveries tracked against the original line

Complex terms, simple execution

High volumes, thin margins and customers who each have their own agreement. BizBloqs holds the pricing, the credit position and the delivery route in one place.

Customer-specific rules without customer-specific chaos

Wholesale margin lives in the details: tiered prices, agreed rebates, minimum order quantities, pallet layers, credit limits and delivery windows that differ per customer and sometimes per branch of that customer.

When those rules live in someone's head or in a spreadsheet, every absence is a risk and every new hire is a training project. BizBloqs holds them as configuration applied automatically at order entry.

The result is that the exception becomes visible. If an order breaks a credit limit or an MOQ, it stops and asks — rather than shipping and being argued about at invoice.

From order to route in one flow

Wholesale orders are large, repetitive and time-boxed. Picking in customer sequence, building stable pallets and loading in reverse drop order all save more time than any single warehouse optimisation.

Orders are grouped into routes, routes into loads, and loads into a guided sequence on the floor. What is on the truck matches the paperwork because both come from the same record.

EDI and portal orders flow into the same process, so a customer's ordering channel changes nothing about how the work is executed.

The problem

Customer-specific prices and discounts live in someone's head

OMS

Tiered Price & Agreement Engine

Customer, volume and contract pricing applied automatically at order entry — the agreed price, every time

Goods shipped to customers who are already over their credit limit

Finance

Credit Limit Blocking

Credit position checked at order acceptance and again at release — the order is held before it ships, not after

Pallet and case quantities are converted by hand and get it wrong

WMS

Multi-UOM Handling

Piece, case, layer and pallet handled natively with automatic conversion — order in any unit, pick in any unit

Delivery routes are planned the night before on a whiteboard

TMS

Route & Load Planning

Orders grouped into loads and routes with picking sequenced in reverse drop order — last on, first off

Back-orders are tracked in a mailbox

OMS

Back-Order Management

Shortfalls captured as back-orders and released automatically on the next receipt — the customer is told, not forgotten

our Wholesale Features

Wholesalers typically begin with pricing, credit and route features, then extend into full warehouse execution.

Tiered Pricing and Rebates

Customer and branch-level price rules applied automatically at order entry

Credit Limit Control

Orders that break agreed limits stop and ask, instead of shipping into a dispute

MOQ and Pallet Layers

Minimum quantities and layer rounding enforced at entry, not corrected at pack

Route and Load Building

Orders grouped into routes and loaded in reverse drop order for fast delivery

EDI and Portal Orders

Electronic orders flow into the same process as manual ones, with no separate handling

Delivery Window Compliance

Agreed windows enforced through planning, with breaches visible before dispatch

In addition to a scan procedure with EDI integration, BizBloqs has set up an entire production system for us. Production planning can provide direct instructions and as soon as they are ready, it all arrives in the OMS. This gives us a larger production capacity and a drastic reduction of the picking mistakes in dispatching.
