Manufacturing

Production only runs as well as the material flow behind it. BizBloqs ties bills of material, work in process and finished goods into one live picture, so the line never waits on stock nobody could find.

What does a WMS do in a manufacturing operation?

In manufacturing, a warehouse management system governs the stock that feeds and leaves production: receiving raw materials, staging components against production orders, booking finished goods back in and shipping them. It keeps a single scan-confirmed stock position across raw, work-in-progress and finished goods rather than three separate counts.

  • Components staged and issued against a production order, not picked ad hoc
  • Finished goods booked in on completion and immediately sellable
  • Batch and serial captured at receipt and carried through to delivery
  • Production orders and confirmations exchanged with the ERP as messages

The line never waits on stock nobody could find

Production only runs as well as the material flow behind it. BizBloqs ties bills of material, work in process and finished goods into one live picture, so the line never waits on stock nobody could find.

Material flow decides output

A production plan is only a forecast until the components are physically in the right place at the right moment. Most manufacturers lose more hours to material search, miscounted sub-assemblies and last-minute substitutions than to machine downtime, and almost none of that loss shows up in the ERP.

BizBloqs treats the bill of material as an operational instruction rather than a costing record. When a production order is released, every component is reserved against it at location level, so a shortage is visible before the line starts instead of halfway through the shift.

Work in process is tracked as its own stock state. Semi-finished goods have a location, a quantity and a parent order, which means the value sitting on the shop floor is finally countable.

One record from goods receipt to finished pallet

Receiving, quality inspection, staging, production consumption, back-flushing and finished goods put-away all run in the same system, on the same scanner, against the same item master. There is no export, no overnight sync and no second version of the truth.

Because every movement is logged against a user, a location and a timestamp, backward traceability from a finished pallet to the supplier batch is a query rather than an investigation.

Integration with your ERP stays deliberately thin: BizBloqs owns the physical process, your ERP owns the financials, and the interface between them is a small, documented set of messages instead of a bespoke project.

The problem

Bills of material live in spreadsheets — component shortages surface on the line

WMS

Multi-Level BOM Control

Every component reserved against the production order at release — shortages flagged before the line starts, not during it

Work in process is invisible between operations

WMS

WIP Stock Locations

Each operation books stock into its own WIP location — real-time visibility of what sits where in the production cycle

Raw material batches cannot be traced to the finished unit

WMS

Batch & Serial Genealogy

Full upward and downward traceability from raw batch to shipped serial — recall scope determined in minutes

Machine and MHE data sits outside the stock system

Integration

Line & MHE Integration

Production counters, conveyors and automated storage report straight into BizBloqs — one interface, no double entry

Rework and scrap are corrected in the books weeks later

Finance

Real-Time Production Booking

Yield, scrap and rework posted at the moment they happen — cost price per unit stays true all month

our Manufacturing Features

The features below are the ones manufacturers reach for first. They are configuration, not custom development.

Multi-Level BOM Control

Components reserved against the production order at release, shortages flagged before the line starts

Work-in-Process Visibility

Semi-finished goods carry a location, a quantity and a parent order, so shop-floor value is countable

Back-Flush and Consumption

Consumption booked automatically on completion, with manual correction where the process needs it

Inbound Quality Gate

Quarantine, inspect and release inbound material before it can be consumed by a production order

Full Batch Traceability

Trace a finished pallet back to every supplier batch that went into it, in one query

ERP Integration Toolkit

A thin, documented message set between physical process and financial record — no bespoke middleware

In addition to a scan procedure with EDI integration, BizBloqs has set up an entire production system for us. Production planning can provide direct instructions and as soon as they are ready, it all arrives in the OMS. This gives us a larger production capacity and a drastic reduction of the picking mistakes in dispatching.
