E-commerce

Selling online is a volume game with a margin problem. BizBloqs keeps one stock overview and orchestrates what each channel is allowed to sell from it, gets parcels out the door labelled correctly, and stops returns eating the profit.

What does a WMS do for an e-commerce operation?

E-commerce fulfilment means many small orders, short promise times and a high return rate. A warehouse management system batches those orders into efficient pick routes, confirms each line on a scanner before it is packed, and hands the shipment to the right carrier with a label and a track-and-trace reference.

  • Batch, zone and wave picking instead of one walk per order
  • Pack-station verification so the wrong item cannot leave in the box
  • Carrier selection and labelling driven by rules, not by hand
  • Returns received against the original order with a condition and reason code

One stock overview, a deliberate availability strategy per channel

Selling online is a volume game with a margin problem. BizBloqs keeps one stock overview and orchestrates what each channel is allowed to sell from it, gets parcels out the door labelled correctly, and stops returns eating the profit.

One stock overview, orchestrated availability per channel

There is one stock overview — the physical truth in the warehouse. What each channel is allowed to sell from it is a separate, deliberate decision. Publishing the same raw number everywhere is what turns a synchronisation problem into cancellations.

BizBloqs holds that single authoritative position and orchestrates what goes outward per channel. Amazon and Bol punish out-of-stock hardest, so they get their own safety stock, buffer and availability strategy; your own webshop can run leaner because the commercial risk of a stockout is yours to carry.

Strategies are rules, not spreadsheets: safety stock per channel, allocation ceilings for campaigns, priority order when stock gets tight, minimum cover before a listing is throttled, and separate treatment for pre-orders and back-orders. Reservations land the second an order does, so every channel's published number already reflects it.

Returns treated as a process, not an exception

In e-commerce the return is part of the sale. When returns are handled off-system, stock stays invisible for days, refunds get delayed and the customer notices both.

Returns arrive with a reason code, are inspected against a rule set and are either put straight back into sellable stock, routed to repair or written off. The financial consequence follows automatically.

Carrier selection, label generation and track-and-trace are part of the same flow, so the customer's next update is triggered by a real physical event rather than by someone remembering to send it.

The problem

Overselling on Amazon and Bol because every channel is fed the same raw stock number

OMS

Orchestrated Channel Availability

One stock overview, a deliberate availability strategy per channel — safety stock, buffers and allocation ceilings tuned per marketplace and for your own webshop

Carrier labels produced by hand at the packing bench

TMS

Automated Carrier Selection

Carrier and service chosen by weight, destination and SLA, label printed at pack — no rekeying into carrier portals

Returns pile up unprocessed and stock stays unsellable

OMS

Structured Returns Handling

Return reason, inspection and disposition per item — sellable stock back on the shelf the same day

Peak season needs triple the pickers and training takes weeks

WMS

Guided Scan Workflows

Screen-by-screen instruction on the scanner — temporary staff productive within an hour, not a fortnight

Cost per order is unknown, so pricing is guesswork

Finance

Cost-Per-Order Reporting

Pick, pack, packaging and freight allocated per order — true fulfilment cost per channel and per SKU

In addition to a scan procedure with EDI integration, BizBloqs has set up an entire production system for us. Production planning can provide direct instructions and as soon as they are ready, it all arrives in the OMS. This gives us a larger production capacity and a drastic reduction of the picking mistakes in dispatching.
