Omni-channel

Store, web, marketplace and wholesale all pulling from one pool of stock. BizBloqs decides which location serves which order, and promises a date it can actually keep.

What does omni-channel fulfilment require operationally?

Omni-channel means one stock pool serving several sales channels — webshop, marketplace, wholesale, retail — each with its own promise and priority. It requires a single real-time stock position plus allocation rules that decide which channel may consume which stock, so one channel cannot quietly empty another's buffer.

  • One stock truth shared across every channel, published back to each
  • Channel priority and reservation rules applied before picking starts
  • Orders from any channel executed through the same warehouse process
  • Channel-specific packing, documents and carrier requirements handled by rule

Sell from anywhere, ship from anywhere, count it once

Store, web, marketplace and wholesale all pulling from one pool of stock. BizBloqs decides which location serves which order, and promises a date it can actually keep.

Inventory is a network, not a building

Once stores, a distribution centre and a webshop all sell from the same catalogue, the interesting question stops being how much you have and becomes where it is and what it is already promised to.

BizBloqs holds stock as a network position with location-level detail underneath. Availability shown to a customer reflects everything that can realistically reach them in time, not just what happens to be in one building.

That single view is what makes ship-from-store, click-and-collect and cross-site transfers ordinary operations rather than special projects.

Routing decides the margin

The same order can be profitable or loss-making depending on which node fulfils it. Routing rules weigh distance, stock cover, labour cost and carrier price, so the cheapest sensible node wins by default and exceptions are deliberate.

Order promising uses the same logic in reverse: the date shown at checkout is one the network can actually meet.

Returns re-enter the network wherever the customer chooses, are graded, and are made available again from the node where they will sell fastest.

The problem

Store stock and warehouse stock are two different truths

OMS

Unified Inventory Pool

Every location — warehouse, store, in-transit — in one availability picture with rules on what may be sold from where

Orders are fulfilled from the wrong location and freight cost doubles

OMS

Intelligent Order Routing

Source chosen on proximity, stock cover and cost — ship-from-store when it wins, central when it does not

Delivery promise on the webshop is a guess

OMS

Available-to-Promise Engine

Promise calculated from real stock, inbound purchase orders and cut-off times — a date the operation can keep

Click-and-collect handovers are managed on paper in the store

WMS

Click & Collect Workflow

Reservation, store pick, hold location and customer handover scanned end to end — nothing lost behind the counter

Channel profitability is invisible until the quarter closes

Finance

Per-Channel Margin Reporting

Fulfilment and freight cost attributed per channel — the channel that looks biggest is not always the one that pays

In addition to a scan procedure with EDI integration, BizBloqs has set up an entire production system for us. Production planning can provide direct instructions and as soon as they are ready, it all arrives in the OMS. This gives us a larger production capacity and a drastic reduction of the picking mistakes in dispatching.
