Import / Export

Cross-border trade is its own operating model, with its own systems and its own failure modes. BizBloqs classifies correctly, documents automatically, and tells you the landed cost on day one.

What does warehouse management add to import and export?

Import and export operations carry customs status alongside physical stock. A warehouse management system keeps bonded and free stock apart, records origin, tariff and document references against the goods, and prevents stock from being shipped in a way its customs status does not permit.

  • Bonded and duty-paid stock held and picked as separate positions
  • Origin, tariff code and document references carried on the stock record
  • Container and pallet receipts reconciled against the shipping documents
  • Export documentation produced from the confirmed shipment, not retyped

The paperwork is part of the physical process

Cross-border trade is its own operating model, with its own systems and its own failure modes. BizBloqs classifies correctly, documents automatically, and tells you the landed cost on day one.

Landed cost, known at the right moment

Cross-border trade hides its cost. Freight, duty, handling and currency all land after the buying decision, which means margin is confirmed weeks after it was committed.

BizBloqs captures the components of landed cost against the shipment and allocates them across the items it carried, so the cost you sell against is the cost you actually incurred.

Classification is held on the item rather than rediscovered per shipment, which removes both the delay and the risk of an inconsistent declaration.

Documents produced by the process that created them

Packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates and customs declarations describe what physically happened. When they are typed separately, they drift, and a discrepancy at the border is expensive in time rather than money.

Here, documents are generated from the movement record. What was scanned into the container is what appears on the paperwork.

Bonded and duty-suspended stock is held as its own status, so goods cannot be released before their status allows it.

The problem

HS code misclassification triggering duty overpayments and customs holds

Customs

HS Classification Engine

HS codes validated at product setup and checked against the latest tariff schedules — duty calculated correctly every time

Export documentation produced manually — errors cause clearance delays

Customs

Automated Export Docs

Commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and export declarations generated from order data — zero manual entry

Landed cost unknown until the invoice arrives — margin destroyed after the fact

Finance

Landed Cost Accounting

Duty, freight and insurance allocated to product cost at goods receipt — true purchase price known from day one

Letter of credit compliance managed outside the system, missed deadlines

OMS

Trade Order Management

LC terms, document deadlines and compliance requirements embedded in the order — system alerts before deadlines

Broker communication fragmented — no visibility until goods are stuck

TMS

Broker & Shipment Visibility

Broker integration and multimodal shipment tracking in a single view — milestone delays visible as they happen

Landed Cost Allocation

Freight, duty and handling allocated across the items a shipment carried

Customs Documentation

Declarations and invoices generated from the movement record, not retyped

Bonded Stock Status

In addition to a scan procedure with EDI integration, BizBloqs has set up an entire production system for us. Production planning can provide direct instructions and as soon as they are ready, it all arrives in the OMS. This gives us a larger production capacity and a drastic reduction of the picking mistakes in dispatching.
